Saalim Chowdhury, Entrepreneur in Residence at 500 Startups

Saalim Chowdhury is currently an Entrepreneur in Residence at 500 Startups. At 500 Startups he sources and evaluates startups for investment, as well as teaches and writes syllabi and content on several of the company's growth programs globally. 500 Startups is the world's most active Fintech investor according to CB Insights' most recent report. He's frequently a commentator on the changing world of professional services, and the impact of policy and regulation on growth and innovation. His key industry areas are Fintech (esp. blockchain & banking), enterprise, SaaS, media and entertainment.

Unusually, his experience spans both corporate and start-up environments, translating skills and experiences across disciplines, industries and continents. His entrepreneurial career ranges from his late 90's mobile start-up to Cisco's $183m acquisition, ScanSafe, a cloud security company and Skillbridge, a talent marketplace for elite finance and consulting (including many CFA's!), acquired by Andreessen-backed 'Unicorn', Toptal. In the Corporate world, he was a senior executive at News Corp and Trinity Mirror where he led digital strategy and transformation initiatives, mostly on 'future-of-media' projects. In his spare time, he's an angel investor and advises educational charities.

For his sins, he was once a Management Consultant at the Boston Consulting Group and educated at Oxford, Cambridge and the LSE.
